Mastiff Resources

The term Mastiff is used for a lot of different dogs. There is the Spanish Mastiff, an ancient breed of dog originating in Spain, as well as the Neapolitan Mastiff, a likewise ancient breed from Italy. Further north you can find the English Mastiff, and there is also the Bullmastiff which is believed to be a cross between the English Mastiff and the Bulldog. In Asia, you can come across the ancient Tibetan Mastiff.

Molosser is a name for group of solidly-built large dogs that are believed to hail from the same ancestor. (The name Molosser is derived from Molossia, which is today known as Albania.) Molossers are sometimes referred to as mastiff dogs.
